The real story
1997 — present
The résumé never tells the real story. I’ve had spectacular successes, miserable failures, and my heart broken by companies I loved.
1997 — 2002
Yahoo!
An early member of the core Yahoo! team, where I helped create Yahoo! Messenger — one of the first messaging platforms in the world. My first lesson in how software connects people, and how much I loved building it.
2002 — 2004
NeoCarta Ventures
Venture Partner and CTO at a $300M early-stage fund. Backing other founders taught me how much belief matters when you're in the middle of it — a lesson I've carried as an early-stage investor ever since.
2004 — 2008
Rhythm NewMedia
Co-founded one of the first mobile video advertising companies — back when video on a phone was a crazy bet. Later merged with Blinkx and went public as RhythmOne.
2008 — 2012
Buysight
Founder and CEO of a real-time performance marketing platform, acquired by AOL in 2012. A spectacular success — and proof that even the good chapters break your heart a little when they end.
2013 — 2020
YouPlus
The hardest chapter, and one I wrote myself. YouPlus ended badly — publicly and painfully. I made serious mistakes, I was held accountable, and I paid my price. I own that completely, I learned my lessons, and it reshaped how I build: transparency first, always.
Now
Ide8
Founder and Chief Creative Officer of the world's first AI Co-Foundry — bringing every test I survived to the founders building what comes next. Still crazy. Still dreaming. Still moving forward.
